Operating Principle of the vacuum pump <Fig> Vacuum pump with regular compressed air (87 PSI inlet) can achieve vacuum levels of 5mbar (-100.8kpa).

The multistage principle gives very high efficency and combines a large flow with a deep vacuum. This means minimal air consumption and low running costs. Also, consider the Ulvac Heliot Vacuum Leak Detector in your order.

Why would you want to use a V-tec Vacuum Pump?
  • No moving parts
  • Requires no electric power supply
  • Very low noise levels
  • High Reliability (no moving parts again)
  • Fast response (instant on/off capability)
  • Airsavings kits (AS KIT)
  • High efficiency
  • Electrically explosion proof (no spark generation)
  • No contaminated oil to contend with
  • Corrosion resistant
  • No Virbration
  • Compact and light weight for easy installation
  • Minimal heat generation
  • Simple installation
  • Economical operation

Compressed Air
Electric Motor
Energy Consumption Low particularly when using air saving kit and when pump is used only on demand High relative to performance High because pump has to run continuously regardless of application
Heat Production None None High
Operating Noise Level Low (50-60 dBA) High (Approx 75 dBA) High above 75dBA
Ease of Installation Easy, quick and cost effective, very little space required, lightweight and easy to mount local to requirement Difficult, electrical control required for motor, large space needed with robust construction to mount motor and pump. Large control valves needed.
Servicing Non required Not easy to dis-assemble Regular servicing required
Response Time Immediate Almost Immediate Slow
Ability to produce high vacuum flows combined high vacuum levels Possible with lots of pump options Not Possible Possible but long evacuation times
Resilience to Corrosive and Hazardous Environments Very good due to no moving parts and PPS housing Dependant on housing material Special Pumps required
Range of Pumps Many sizes and configurations all with large range of flow rates, and vacuum levels Limited range of products Limited range of products and all the same configuration
Max Vacuum Level 100.8Kpa (-29.9inHg,-756mmHg) Manufacturer Dependent Manufacturer Dependant
Working Temperature Range -20C to + 120 C Manufacturer Dependent Manufacturer Dependent

Vacuum Conveyor

Benefits of the V-tec Vacuum Conveyor
  • Many models to choose from
  • No dust
  • Automatic filter cleaning system
  • Easy to install
  • Easy to clean
  • Compact size
  • Lightweight
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Low energy consumption
  • Ease of parts replacement
  • Immediate delivery

Operation of the V-tec Vacuum Conveyor System
  • The exhaust valve closes (3) as the vacuum pump (1) starts to evacuate the receiver tank (2) and suction pipe (5).
  • The suction pipe (5) achieves appropriate vacuum level.
  • Product and air from the suction point is drawn into the receiver tank.
  • Compressed air fills the reservoir (8).
  • The filter (4) prevents dust and small particulates from entering the pump
  • When the material hopper is filled, the vacuum pump stops. The exhaust vaove on the conveyor opens discharging the product. Simultaneously, the compressed air reservoir automatically vents blowing the inlet filter clean.
  • This cycle is usually controlled by a timer (7), however, other control methods may be used depending on the application.
